"Heroes Around Me" Reflections

During the 2018-2019 school year, we are celebrating 50 years of the Reflections Art program, with “Heroes Around Me” as the theme.


Submission for 2018-2019 Reflection is October 1st.


What is Reflections?  -- It’s all about Arts

Reflections will allow students to:

  • Unleash creative talents and be inspired

  • Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork

  • Experience the fun and joy of making art

  • Tap into critical-thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme

  • Receive positive recognition for their original works of art

Participation is easy, exciting and empowering

All students are invited to participate and submit original artwork in one of six areas:

  • Dance Choreography

  • Literature

  • Photography

  • Film Production

  • Music Composition

  • Visual Arts

Looking for a Few Great Moms and Dads: Noon Duty Supervision (1st – 5th grades)


Please come and join the amazing groups of parent volunteers who support our Greenbrook Staff during Noon Lunch and Recess. We provide the whistle, vest, and Fanny Pack - - you provide the extra eyes and ears in the lunch room and on the playground. It’s a great way to see your student interact with his/her peers during unstructured play. Please complete the attached form and return to the office or email Rhea Murphy ( and Meghan Felardo ( ) with your available days, preferred shifts, and how many times you would like to volunteer for the month. We will provide all noon duty volunteers with a monthly schedule in advance. Even if you can only volunteer once/month, we would LOVE to see you! 


If you are unsure if this is a good fit for you, please stop by our lunch times this week to view and shadow our GB staff. Remember – you need to be cleared with a Level 1 clearance through Be a Mentor. Here are important and helpful training opportunities for noon duty volunteers:

How to Facilitate Student Conflict (Friday, September 14th): 8:40 – 10:00 a.m. in the library (Our wonderful facilitators from Soul Shoppe will be here to help train on conflict resolution)



CogAT Testing for Grades 3-7

This year, the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) for grades 3-7 will be administered on Saturday, November 3, 2018. The online registration window is August 13 - September 21, 2018. Any student in grades 3-4 may sign up to take the CogAT. For grades 5-7, only students new to our District may sign up to take the CogAT.
